The Grand Harbour Palazzo — A 16th-Century Landmark Residence in the Heart of Vittoriosa

Price on request

A rare opportunity to acquire one of Malta's most historically significant residences: an authentic 16th-century Palazzo dating back to the era of the Great Siege of Malta in 1565.

Set within one of the most coveted addresses in the Three Cities, this landmark residence sits in the historic city of Vittoriosa, within walking distance of charming cafés, acclaimed restaurants, the lively waterfront and the Grand Harbour itself.

Reached via a picturesque pedestrianised street where centuries of Maltese heritage remain beautifully preserved, this triple-fronted Palazzo commands immediate attention. Rich in architectural character and timeless grandeur, it ranks among the island's most coveted trophy properties — a genuinely rare chance to own a residence of this historical importance.

Beyond the original timber entrance doors lies a striking central courtyard, complete with a stone fountain, a traditional garigor staircase, a quiet seating nook and mature greenery — the calm, elegant heart of the home.

The ground floor houses a formal dining room with soaring arched ceilings alongside a bespoke designer kitchen, both opening onto the courtyard. This level also includes a double bedroom suite with en-suite bathroom, a second fully fitted kitchen, a wine cellar, a technical control room, a box room, a guest cloakroom and an interconnected street-level garage.

The principal floor is dominated by the Sala Nobile, a grand reception room spanning the full width of the Palazzo — complete with fireplace and abundant natural light, ideal for both formal entertaining and quiet evenings. Adjoining it is the master suite, reachable from the Sala Nobile, a private lift, or the courtyard, and featuring a Jack-and-Jill en-suite, a walk-in closet and a private spa room.

The upper floor holds three further deluxe bedroom suites, each individually furnished with bespoke pieces, walk-in wardrobes and travertine-clad en-suite bathrooms.

The standout feature is the rooftop entertaining terrace, with panoramic views across the Grand Harbour, the Valletta skyline, the silhouette of Villa Bighi and the marina below — home to some of the Mediterranean's most striking superyachts. The terrace includes a heated swimming pool, dining and lounging areas, a discreet fully equipped kitchen and a guest shower room for effortless year-round entertaining.

Meticulously restored, the Palazzo blends centuries-old architecture with contemporary luxury throughout — bespoke furnishings, fine craftsmanship and modern technology sit alongside fortress-like limestone walls, hidden passageways and soaring, stately ceilings. Spanning approximately 1,070 sqm of internal accommodation, the property includes a lift serving all levels and an intermediate floor for laundry and storage.

Protected as a property of heritage importance and offered freehold, partly furnished, this is a legacy estate — a residence where history and contemporary luxury converge. Opportunities to acquire a Palazzo of this provenance and grandeur are exceptionally rare.

  • With 25 years running a successful communications agency in Cardiff, I built a career on crafting compelling stories — but real estate was always the one that called to me.

A Welsh speaker and proud Francophile, I studied Economics at the University of Toulouse, and France never really left my blood. When Brexit and Covid reshaped the world in ways none of us anticipated, I chose to see the disruption as an invitation — and made the move I'd always dreamed of. I'm now a proud French resident, based on the Côte d'Azur.

My passion for property is anything but theoretical. I've undertaken multiple renovation projects in the UK, owned a property in Paris, and worked as an agent for luxury real estate agencies in both Paris and London. That hands-on experience — combined with a deep love for this region — naturally drew my focus to luxury sales and rentals in the South of France.

My journey in France began in October 2020, arriving as a long-term guest at Cinq & Sept in Roujan. By 2022, that journey had found its shape: I co-founded Polarius International Real Estate alongside my business partner Lee Michael Horan. I now live in sunny Nice.

Beyond property, I'm a committed LGBTIQA+ advocate — and I'm particularly proud to have organised the first-ever Pride event in Llantwit Major, the coastal town in Wales where my story began.
